Pommeau de Bretagne AOC must be made from cider apples harvested from selected orchards. Among the 325 local apple varieties recorded since the 19th century, only a few highly prized ones have been retained for the production of Pommeau de Bretagne AOC, a judicious marriage of Brittany apple juice and cider eau-de-vie.
Far beyond the statutory 14 months, Pommeau Manoir de Kinkiz is aged on site in oak barrels for between 24 and 36 months. Thus it acquires its bouquet, amber colour and an authentic character which reflects the area of its production and suggests a product of true pedigree. It arrives at your table only after having successfully undergone the scrutiny of a panel of expert tasters.
Traditionally an aperitif, it is ideally served at between eight and ten degrees to best appreciate its range of aromas. It goes equally wonderfully with foie gras, oysters or melon and it works well with desserts. And do not forget that it is also useful in many culinary recipes.
